Hotels

Jurys Inn Middlesbrough

Fry St, Middlesbrough TS1 1JH, UK – 01642 232000

Excellent friendly staff, rooms clean bright and had air con!! I had to ask reception for milk a few times though as house keeping hadnt restocked but they always did a great job of cleaning the room. The restaurant was very nice too despite the waiting times for food. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel which presents you with lots of amenities like gym, spa etc. WiFi is free and isn't too bad at all. Good location and you don't have to worry about headroom at the parking lot if you have a big van like I always do. They've got parking right next to the hotel for cars and a bigger parking lot behind the hotel. Breakfast was always amazing with lots of options. Customer service was very good too. Will definitely recommend if you staying in Middlesbrough.

Holiday Inn Express Middlesbrough - Centre Square

Former Cook And Endeavour House, Albert Road, Middlesbrough TS1 2PA, UK – 01642 917113

Lovely budget hotel. Rooms are clean and well proportioned. The air conditioning works really well and the beds are very comfortable to sleep in. You can obtain discounts for the nearby restaurants (which are rather good to be honest). The buffet breakfast, which is included in the price, is very good. The staff are to a member, all polite, very friendly and incredibly helpful. There was an issue of the fire alarm going off during my stay and we had to evacuate the building (we were outside the hotel for around 40 minutes or so) - this was done calmly and expertly by the staff. The alarm was not the hotel's fault - a building in the attached shopping centre set it off. Despite this, the duty manager offered every guest a free drink for the inconvenience - an excellent example of their superb customer service. I would happily recommend this hotel and and stayed in much worse places charging far higher rates.

Lovely place, bang at the middle of Middlesbrough. Front office members were helpful despite an initial confusion with my cards. Room was impeccably clean and the shower cubicle was great. Complimentary breakfast is simple yet has something for everyone. At the price I paid for one night, I found the stay and breakfast more than worth of it. . .

Premier Inn Middlesbrough Central (James Cook Hospital)

Marton Rd, Middlesbrough TS4 3BS, UK – 0871 527 8770

I would like to thank all the staff for making my stay so good last week when I stayed for five nights while my husband was undergoing major heart surgery at James Cook hospital. Everyone was friendly, extremely helpful and very understanding. My room on 1st floor was very safe, extremely clean and indeed comfortable and spacious. The shower was a good size and the bed was just great. I did feel it was overpriced but unfortunately my unexpected stay was over the Easter weekend and I was so pleased that all I had to do was cross the road to the hospital to be there at visiting times. The staff are a credit to the company - well done!!

This place feels like a welcome home everytime I walk through the door. Simply brilliant.

Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

Sherlocks

7 Baker Street, Middlesbrough TS1 2LH, UK – 07789 277364

Nice place, small inside but it is part of a regeneration of the Town Centre which was badly needed. It's nice to support local business in this area.

One of Baker st's many fine little pubs. Good craft beer

The Star

14 Southfield Rd, Middlesbrough TS1 3BZ, UK – 01642 245307

The place is a basic Brittish pub with beer and pub food. It's located in the university grounds so I expect it to be packed with students when the semester is on. Servings are big and hearty. You order and pay at the bar so no unnecessary waiting for the bill. Very casual.

Nice smart place . Gd music and vibes . I go here alot would recommend .

Linthorpe Hotel

The Crescent, Middlesbrough TS5 6SQ, UK – 01642 819823

Cheap, good drinks and a good atmosphere. Mixers are a bit ghetto, but for the price you can't complain. Toilets are an absolute treat, tho 😂

Always a bit of fun. Drinks are very good with even better price tags

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!
